Take Your Year Back By Giving Up

We are over a month past 2018’s New Years Eve celebrations and from when we started our New Years Resolutions. If you are anything like me you have almost forgotten what they were or have just dropped them. Luckily though I haven’t gained any weight yet but my promise to get myself a gym membership and become the neighborhood MILF has yet to happen.

So what do I do now? How do I get back my resolutions without feeling like a failure? It just so happens that tomorrow, February 14th is our day! Tonight our little family is celebrating Mardi Gras. It’s been fun to teach my kids about new and different cultures. I love the music, parties, food, and feel of the entire day. For many, Mardi Gras is the “last hoorah” before Lent. Lent is 40 days long and is usually celebrated by Christians. It has something to do with Christ in the wilderness for 40 days, so you choose to give something up for 40 days. I like to take this time though to give up something to better my life and bring myself closer to my goals.

If you would like to join me in this 40 day restriction here are some suggestions that you may want to consider:

  1. Alcohol, chocolate, or any other unhealthy substance. This is definitely the most used subject during Lent but that doesn’t mean it’s not a good one still. A healthy body always leads to a healthy mind and spirit.
  2. Being a Slut. I know this is somewhat tongue and cheek but hear me out! I’m usually around women in my same position (married and with kids) and there is usually that one wife that flirts a little too much with everyones husband. You know that time when the wives separate from the husbands to talk about future vacations, whiny kids, and their favorite sex positions? Well, when someone joins the group late after giggling with the men and the wives all stop talking, can’t seem to start up a new subject, look at her overly exposed breasts and then look down. Then you can bet they had just been complaining about her sluttiness. So next time you hang out with all your friends just be aware.
  3. “You’re a Bitch!” I’m all about “living your truth” but if this phrase is being used as an excuse to be a down right mean person then you may need to re-evaluate your “truth”. Sure everyone needs a good release of anger once and a while but if you are constantly on people for not being or doing as they should then take a step back and just stop being such a bitch! (I really am saying this with love and understanding. I have had my fair share of Bitchy times.)brawlin-betties-1197374_1920-min
  4. Procrastination Station, “All Aboard!” This can be a hard one. I know that my intentions are usually always good and all, but when putting things off keeps affecting my work and loved ones then this might be the station that my train just needs to leave.

For me I have decided that I really need to “Give Up” on Procrastination. I have just put off so much including my Project Minimalism, and I really need to change that. I know it won’t be done in a day or even 40 days but it’s a great place to start. This really means I can’t bite off more than I can chew so I’m not set up for failure. (Also I really do need to get on that gym membership!)

Have an exciting Mardi Gras full of flashing tits and consuming all the wonderful vices of the world. And Good luck to you on this upcoming Lent. I challenge you to try it out and see if you can live “without” for 40 days.

Namaste Bitches!
